Artists On Main Osoyoos opened their annual show at The Art Gallery Osoyoos on Saturday, Sept. 10. “Past & Present” runs until Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022.
The theme “Past & Present” refers to the group of local painters who have been part of the Osoyoos arts scene since 1950. Initially, they were known as Painters and Potters, including both. Today, Osoyoos Potters is a separate group.
The show includes recent works by current members, but it also has a number of paintings by former members, some of whom are now deceased.
Artists on Main Osoyoos welcomes both accomplished artists and those who are newer to painting and wish to improve. They meet at Studio 89 above the gallery and have about 70 members.
While the majority works with acrylic, many work with oils, watercolours and other types of paint and mixed media.
The gallery is open non-summer hours, Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
It is located at 8713 Main St. in Osoyoos, B.C., just west of Town Hall.
