Local painter Pam Duncan’s oil painting “Osoyoos Evening Glow”  was selected the winner of The Art Gallery Osoyoos’ Poster Contest.

The image was selected by a panel of outside judges, who also considered submissions by other local artists. The judges did not know the identities of the artists when they made their decision. An exhibition of the entries opened Saturday, January 7 at the gallery and runs until Saturday, January 28, 2023.

Duncan leans toward landscapes and paints with both oil and acrylic. She often paints in plein air. She’s a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA) and Artists on Main.

The winning entry shows Osoyoos Lake reflecting evening colours with mountains in the background.

A release of the limited edition poster, signed by Duncan, takes place Saturday, January 14 at the gallery.

The gallery is now on non-summer hours and is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Tuesday to Saturday.

The gallery is located at 8713 Main St. in Osoyoos, B.C., just west of Town Hall.
