Gallery shows paintings by local chapter of Federation of Canadian Artists

The South Okanagan-Similkameen Chapter of the Federation of Canadian Artists opens their exhibition of paintings on Saturday, March 4 at The Art Gallery Osoyoos. The juried show, “Beauty Is In…,” runs until Saturday, March 25, 2025.

The group consists of painters from Osoyoos and Oliver as well as those as far north as Summerland, as well as the Similkameen.

The exhibition includes all sizes of paintings and a mix of acrylic, oils and watercolours. There are also some pieces using wax, including several encaustic works.

The gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

It is located at 8713 Main St. in Osoyoos, B.C., just west of Town Hall.

Richard McGuire is an Osoyoos photographer who worked at the Osoyoos Times between 2012 and 2018, first as reporter and then as editor. He has a long career in journalism as well as research, communication and management at the House of Commons in Ottawa and in the federal government.
